Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:

    • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb total)
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • For the Wrap Assembly:

    • 8 large whole wheat or flour tortillas
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or a mix of mozzarella and cheddar)
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra richness)
    • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
    • 1 cup shredded lettuce
    • 1 medium tomato, sliced thinly
    • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
    • Fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

  • Optional Additions:

    • Avocado slices
    • Salsa or hot sauce
    • Ranch or Caesar dressing

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

    1. In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
    2. Place chicken breasts in a shallow dish and coat evenly with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or refrigerate for up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

    Step 2: Cook the Chicken

    1. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through and no longer pink inside.
    2. Remove from heat, let rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.

    Step 3: Assemble the Wraps

    1. Lay out your tortillas on a clean surface. Sprinkle an even layer of shredded cheese across the center of each tortilla.
    2. Divide the cooked chicken strips among the tortillas, placing them over the cheese.
    3. Top with spinach leaves, lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion (if using). Garnish with fresh herbs.

    Step 4: Roll the Wraps

    1. Fold one side of the tortilla over the filling, tucking it tightly. Fold in the sides and continue rolling into a burrito-style wrap.
    2. Repeat with remaining tortillas and fillings.

    Step 5: Serve

    1. Cut the wraps in half diagonally for easier handling. Serve immediately with optional additions like avocado slices, salsa, or dressing.

Notes

  • Substitutions: For a vegetarian option, replace chicken with grilled portobello mushrooms or sautéed chickpeas. Use dairy-free cheese for a vegan version.
  • Storage Tips: Store leftover wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat briefly in the microwave or toaster oven before serving.
  • Serving Suggestions: Pair these wraps with a side of creamy coleslaw, baked fries, or a simple garden salad for a balanced meal. For added indulgence, drizzle ranch or chipotle mayo over the filling before rolling.
